Marina Drive Palm Trees Relocation Protest - "We Shall Not Be Moved!"

The magestic Blue Herons need the palm tree, and this is nesting season as well. This is happening elsewhere, at Marina del Rey too. The continuing loss of habitat must stop. I urge the Coastal Commission to use their authority to stop the removal of trees along the Coast that are vital to birds, especially the large iconic Blue Heron. Thank you

How many times do we need to sign petitions, get promises, then lies, then petitions. Keep these beautiful trees!

Another negative impact of this mall project, that Has no line of sight to the marina and It is sadly affecting the Los Cerritos Wetlands.

Why can not this be worked around the trees, why can not the city support its residents vs developers?

pandering to development, LBC officials have their own game plan that DOES NOT include listening to the people they serve! This is an unnecessary removal- it can be redesigned. Palm trees in planters are not healthy for the trees nor any living creatures.

When will these people learn?

I thought about leaving a comment but it seems that any comments that oppose the City Council’s decisions fall of deaf ears. Wonder how much extra BOM is paying them.

City officials are not above the law, in particular when it comes to providing convenience (questionably) for a private developer. If there was an absolute necessity to do something like this for benefit of the public in general, not for a limited private enterprise, there is a process to follow. The city officials and the private enterprise did not. Why would the city think a mall is worth whatever they're doing when retail is on the decline? Leave the palm trees alone.

Please be aware that we share this planet with all creatures, large and small. Please picture yourself in the situation of the Heron, without a proper home to return to, and have a family. Unless you truly fancy disrupting and dismantling our ecosystem, and instead favoring the dependence on cars throughout Southern California. Please come up with more effective projects that can solve traffic problems, and not create new ones that have a severe impact on our environment, and ecosystems. Thank you very much.

Ugly, Dizzying Street Painting & Striping, Excessive Signage, Un-Qualified Road Diet and Lane Reductions, Over-Blown Bike Lanes, Bus Stops, and Curb-Outs. Stop Making Long Beach Ugly and Over-Urbanized.

We need to embrace renewable clean energy forces. Oil drilling is toxic.

Is the City's 'service mark': "Working Together to Serve" still in effect? If not, bring it back; if so, observe its meaning, and preserve the nesting sites for the Blue Heron.

Birds need our compassion and protection. City officials need to stop acting in their interests and act in the interest of the city.

Shame on those who choose profit over the right thing to do even after so many people have given so many reasons why it’s a bad idea. Take the time to make it a win win for everyone including the birds and the trees which are an important part of the landscape that makes our city so special. They have earned their right to live here undisturbed.
