The iPledge program is long overdue for a major overhaul. The program is meant to prevent fetal exposure, but what is really does is prevent patient access.

I'd like to see iPledge abolished completely and any similar programs be placed on moratorium for it's clearly thinly-veiled patriarchy.

The window to receive medication is ridiculous. I have no issue getting a pregnancy test every month to verify I’m not pregnant, but we should do away with the 7 day window to obtain prescription. This week my pharmacist is out of town and they informed me she will not be back until the day before my deadline. My prescription is always out of stock and it takes days to get it in stock and the pharmacy’s have told me it’s first come first serve so if someone beats me to the medicine I’ll have to wait for it to be re ordered. It’s ridiculous to have such a short time fram to get a medicine I already tested negative for pregnancy anyways.

I am 50 years old and have to take monthly pregnancy tests?!?. This is discriminatory. I have been kicked out of the system numerous times because there is such a small window to take the test, have the DR. enters the information, then have the patient enter it into the system, call the pharmacy, then they have to order it, which can take 3 days esp on the weekend, and i miss the deadline! This is a nightmare and a ridiculous, stressful process for both doctors and patients! Cystic acne is disfiguring, makes people depressed, and negatively impacts employment and relationships. The FDA has no business mandating this process. Accutane is life changing for some and it should be equally available to men and women. This policy has crossed the line into religion. Why don't we make women take a pregnancy test before buying alcohol, which can also cause birth defects. Somehow pro-life opinions seem to have snuck through the system and taken away our reproductive rights.

This iPledge program is degrading and sexist, as well as the ridiculous packaging amnesteem comes in. How is it easier for me to fill and obtain a percocet Rx than acne meds?!

Program is unfair. 1 month wait to get on a life changing medication is ridiculous. My skin could be clear right now, and I am most definitely not pregnant.

A women has the right to choose. This emphasizes that women do not have autonomy over theor body and implies that abortion is not an option, both of which are wrong and are crippling to an American female’s liberties

I agree most closely with the sentiment to completely eliminate iPledge. Other medications cause birth defects. Why do we not trust people (women) to make decisions for themselves? Unfair to create additional barriers for women in particular to receive medical care.

Took 6 years to get accutane. 6 years! And I'm a transgender! There's no reason why we can't allow exceptions to this program! There's no reason for me to be apart of this, and there's no reason for anybody else on the LGBT spectrum to be apart of this as well! This piece of legislation completely excludes people who are LGBT, which is stupid! Why should a lesbian, or a transgendered person have to be apart of this? There is no reason, just stupidity!

There are many medications that women use that also have birth defect side effects and they do not have to jump through hoops like we do. Why can we not just be informed of the side effects instead of having to struggle to just receive our medication. This is a HUGE waste of government funding, and it's unneeded. The website is impossible to use, and answering the questions will not stop those who are set to do what they want. I say, we should completely get rid of iPledge.

the 7 day window for females to fill prescription is too short. because of scheduling conflicts, many patients miss window and need unnecessary repeat urine tests.. The website is poorly designed: print is too small and hard to read.

Finally, someone is using their head, in regard to the risks of this invaluably effective drug ! Certainly the depression and anxiety caused by bad acne FAR outweigh any psychiatric side-effects that may or may not ensue from using the drug !
