Mr. Olson claims on the city web page “I would like to see controlled growth in the city ...” not expand the city for new growth. Makes you wonder who this proposed annexation is good for. Council members do the right thing for the community vote NO annexation of Saltsdale Rd.

It is insane to think that Saltsdale Road can handle the exorbitant increase in traffic . The City of Umatilla did NOT think this proposal through as relates to long- term consequences. Shame on them!

There is enough ridiculous change being made inside the city limits that is threatening to make our small town into a larger city. The council has approved some changes that are jepordizing local businesses to bring in large corporations. The people of Umatilla are here by choice because we like the small town life we've enjoyed for so long. The residents in the Saltsdale area specifically purchased our homes because we like the rural, country atmosphere. I am completely against this annexation.

The developer can put 23 homes on the property but he wants to put 46 which is why he is pushing for the annexation. The biggest issue is that the city is making a decision that personally affects those of us who live outside city limits and have no recourse because we don't get to vote on who is on the council. Even after the annexation we would remain unrepresented. So we are at their mercy. We have nothing to gain and everything to lose.

I chose to stay and live in Umatilla and live down saltsdale because of the country living, and small town, it’s away from the city life issues and the hustle and bustle.

We all moved out here for the quiet, land, no neighbor 20 feet from your home. What happened years ago Lake County was trying to slow growth and 1 home for every 5 acres was the decision. Stop trying to bring Orlando here , if we wanted that we would have moved there.
