I greatly appreciate the efforts of the Committee and the Board. It is evident that all involved have thoughtfully considered CCC's current and future prospects. At this juncture, however, I am not persuaded that the circumstances merit such an aggressive investment and schedule.

As others have noted, the efforts that went into the development of the long-range plan are laudable and appreciated by many, including me. However, I have three sets of observations: (1) The current demographics of the membership are skewed and not viable going into the future. The Board is attempting to address this issue by offering options to make it more affordable to join. However, there is more than affordability that is affecting the profile of the Club Membership. The Club is also competing with other resources the younger generation is using for recreational and social purposes. What are those? Who is asking and who is answering the question? The lifestyle of younger people is quite different from that of the older cohort, their parents' and grandparents' generations. How will those improvements make the Club more competitive and attractive, as well as affordable? (2) The Committee's prediction that there will be no increased cost to current members of these improvements "feels" naive. I expect that we will be paying more. (3) One can always find needs for improvements, when one asks the question. Expecting consensus about needed improvements is also unrealistic. So, surveys pointing to "grossly" inadequate facilities should be the standard with majority or super majority support in order to proceed. Graduated responses to these needs should also be the model of the plan: This approach will allow the membership to distribute the costs of the improvements over time. It will also allow us the flexibility too evaluate what we do as we go along. It gives us the option to stop what we are doing at any point in the process. The bottom line, if all the improvements are implemented, may be more expensive, but may also be worth it. Respectfully submitted.

All area country clubs are going after young members, so there's absolutely no assurance this proposal will succeed. I think it's too risky and will lead to excess costs to the membership.

I do not trust this CCC Board. This expansion will call for increased dues and possible assessment. It is not needed and most members I talk to are opposed. Why does this board want to create something that will make the CCC even more non-affordable?

My wife, Sue, and I definitely oppose the proposed Long Range Plan that CCC's Board has been considering as a viable Plan for fellow members.

I very much appreciate the work that has gone into the Long Range Plan and it does a great job identifying the many areas of potential improvement. Now, though, it seems we ought to take them one at a time and make sure the membership agrees on the priority of each element. In my opinion, these changes are not essential to future member recruitment. Affordability is at least if not more important.

I too appreciate the thoughtfullness and time our board has spent on the long range plan, but I do not fully support the same. There are components of the plan which I beleive would well serve the club's members (improvements to the pool). I also have concerns about the financing of improvements and the race to add members to the club.

It bothered me a bit when we created the Junior 20 and Junior 30 membership categories. They essentially have full use of the club yet pay only 10% of the initiation fee and 25% of the dues. And, yes, I understand we need to encourage young members to join. That said, much of the stated purpose of the Long Range Plan is geared toward use by younger members of the club. I just can't support spending that.

I too greatly appreciate the work of the committee. Unfortunately, I am one of the few that remember the "club rulers" directing us to sign for new building with the guarantee of indoor tennis. This same group decreased the number of tennis courts did not want club house. men's shower that is a joke, recently renovated with slippery tile and small shower that gets you wet when turned on! The new members want tennis, want easy to get to food areas, and can get by with rearranging the workout rooms. My son cannot afford the club, we need to look at affordability!

Expand the fitness center, improve the golf course and make a spot for the youth but should not take $15 mil. for that.

We do not need to spend this type of money without regards to the driving range facility and the cart shield which needs to be rebuilt.
