Destruction of these beautiful trees for the sake of 100m of bus lane is totally unecessary.

It is pointless putting in such a sort bus lane. The short bus lane further down the A470 in Cathays is rarely used by bus drivers during rush hour - presumably because it is too much hassle trying to get back into the main traffic when the bus lane ends. I am sure the same would happen on Caerphilly Road. There is no justification make these changes to Caerphilly Road. It will not benefit the commuters or the local community.

This would appear to be an unnecessary expense, particularly with the current climatic changes and threats of floods. It seems no-one is listening to the experts who state that more trees means less flooding., whereas less trees means MORE flooding.

I appose the new road plans as a resident living on Caerphilly road for sixteen years ,i have seen many changes ,including the widening. which turned the road into a mini motorway in the day time, & a race track in the evening. Cardiff council clutching at straws by creating MORE bottle necks in the traffic .For what you may gain TOTALLY out weighs what is going to be ruined by for ever by stripping away what's left of natures visible fabric, especially when the remaing trees are in bloom gives the area a pleasing feel, which in turn may have a calming influence on motorists .

What is the point in pulling up trees, that drink 40/50 gallons of water a day? The end result will be problems draining the rain water, the bus will not be able to use the lane very far before it will have to try and get out into the traffic again. This extra lane will make the road too narrow. The residents and drivers I have spoken to don't want it and feel it is a waste of taxpayers money! Please don't make this alteration to Caerphilly Road.

Shame on the council! A complete waste of money. Why cut trees down, surely we should be keeping as many as possible!

There is no justification, traffic-wise, cost-wise or environment-wise for this project. It should NOT go ahead.

The recent introduction of a bus lane in Llandaff has proved that short bus lanes of the type being installed on Caerphilly Road simply don't work, it just causes misery for local residents and a waste of money for the council

the bus lane is supposedly to help local residents however local residents are against it and don't want it. The council should listen to the local taxpayers stop this bus lane going ahead and save some money!!

This is a total waste of money. It's on such a short stretch of road it can't be effective. Local people should always be consulted & listened to on such matters

There are not enough mature trees in Cardiff. These are very pretty trees. Being able to see greenery and particularly trees is very important to our mental well-being and people are affected negatively when they have no view of them. They are particularly important to the aesthetics of a city. I have heard people from our cities comment that Cardiff does not have enough trees.

These trees display beautiful white blossom in the spring and make an otherwise very plain road look very attractive. Do something sensible like make one or two of the bus stops into lay-byes. The stops between birchgrove pub and gabalfa cause the traffic issues anyway!
