No senior citizen should have to stop taking life-saving prescriptions, lose their home or stop helping their children and grandchildren because of a 10% cut to their monthly pension check. Especially after they've worked hard for decades to provide a secure retirement.
NUCPP, we ask you to withdraw your 10% pension cuts agreement with Congress now and unite with our Congressional advocates as well as with IBT, IBEW, AFM, IAM, AFL-CIO, PRC and thousands of retirees for NO CUTS! If you don't do as we ask, we fear your agreement could forever alter our ability to get the Butch Lewis Act or any other bill passed without cuts.
We ask for no more secret back-room agreements and no more playing with our money and our financial futures. We ask for everything to be open and transparent regarding what is said to Congress by NUCPP about our pensions. Many of us won't be able to bear 10% cuts.
We'd rather see NUCPP fight to get MPRA overturned in any plan than agree to pension cuts.
For example, the Butch Lewis Act would overturn MPRA and would have no benefit cuts.
We ask NUCPP to let the unions take the lead. They have decades of experience behind them and we believe they know what they're doing. They all lobby for no cuts.
We can't help but notice it's extremely rare to get pension updates from NUCPP these days. We're starved for news on our pensions that we can't get anywhere else and we request more frequent updates. The secrecy is scary for us.
We're asking NUCPP to assure us in writing that all of our requests will be met now and in the future. We request proof that NUCPP has withdrawn the 10% cuts agreement. Our pensions are modest and cutting them could put undue hardship on millions of the elderly
If NUCPP won't assure us of everything we ask, we'd rather work directly with IBT. The coal miners worked directly with UMWA and it would be no different if we'd work with IBT.

My husband worked 40 years for this. You dont get to just take 10% away when we are living on a fixed income. Leave our money alone.
Keep your hands off my check. I worked my whole life so I wouldnt have to worry about this in my old age.
No secret deals behind our backs. We earned every penny of our pensions through years of hard labor. Stop the cuts now!
How am I supposed to buy my heart meds with 10% less? This is absolutely shameful.
RIDICULOUS. We deserve better than this after a lifetime of work. Pass the Butch Lewis Act and stop these backroom agreements.
