Raj was my favorite lecturer in Roehampton, indeed i even decided to change to philosophy combined honours because he got me so interested in the subject. He not only lectured me in Philosophy, but he made me evolve as a person.

Words cannot describe how bitterly disappointed I am in this institution. That one of the best lecturers I have had the honour to learn from is in danger of redundancy is absolutely tragic!
If asked, any of his former students would undoubtedly agree that it was his passion, his engaging teaching style and his encouragement that helped us all perservere and achieve.
Roehampton would only lose in losing Raj, and I beg the senior staff responsible for this decision to reconsider before Roehampton declines even further as an academic institution.

Life requires teachers, not the mechanics of lecturing. Understanding the difference is of unparalleled importance to those spearheading our institutions. Raj is a teacher. In that ostensibly simple fact, I understand my own own academic success.

I'm sure Raj is one of the main reasons many people choose to take the course. Philosophy is already a massively undervalued subject and it's scary to see a university trying to silence a professor with such a clear passion for his subject and shut down debate in this way.

I am a graduate and it's a pleasure to say that Raj has taught me. He is determined and wants the best for each of his students. Everyone has a voice in his class, everyone can express their thoughts, his teaching style is one that should be practiced by all. It would be a great loss for future philosophy students at Roehampton if they were not taught by Raj.

Raj is the best lecturer I have ever had! Everyone loved him and he certainly had the best way of describing and teaching anything! Not only because he is passionate, talented and inspiring but this action against him is completely unjustified and unfair.

Raj was one of my favourite teachers during my time at university. His passion and his knowledge were beyond anyone else's and his aspirations for his students to succeed was inspiring. He was committed and willing to help whenever we needed, gave great constructive feedback and is, ultimately, one of the most significant contributing factors to my graduating with a first class degree. Meeting Raj at an open day was a big reason for me choosing Roehampton University and to lose him would be a great loss.

Raj is an excellent teacher. I was a student at Roehampton last year and he was the only teacher that inspired me and pushed me to be a better student in Philosophy.

Raj is one of the only lecturers in the department who genuinely seems to love what he does. This makes him not only an incredible lecturer in an academic way, but an inspiring one too. He genuinely cares about the students and their future, and his talks on the open days make a massive impact regarding who chooses this course. Loosing him would be a shame and a mistake.

Raj is the best teacher I have ever had, he is passionate about teaching and truly wants the best for his students. He somehow 'draws out' our potential, sometimes a potential we were not even aware we possessed. He is a natural teacher, he possesses an ability that cannot be taught. Teaching is not just a job for Raj, it is his vocation.
Losing Raj would be a great loss as I genuinely do not beleive students will acheive their full potential without his guidance.

A passionate and inspiring tutor who gives everyone in their classes a chance to voice their opinion and engage in a debate that helps to further them not only academically but personally. The university will miss Raj as much as the students will.

The only charismatic, passionate and GOOD teacher you have to offer gone.
All of the 6 Philosophy teachers i've had at this university have been sub par at best.
They may have passion in their field but they have no way to express it, utilising the boring conventional teaching methods that help none of the students succeed.
The only class I ever learnt something from, was excited to be in and fully attended was Raj's.
If you want to have students succeed in the same effect you wouldn't just hire Raj back, but more teachers with that charisma, and not those here to do their job and leave. Or maybe thats just the impression i get.
If you think his teaching methods are bad in any sense, that just shows how much you know about teaching, how much you know about millennial students, and how much you know about you're other teachers.
I'm sure you could compare the attendance in Raj's class to any other teacher and see a noticeable difference, I'm sure you could also check the performance of each student in Raj's class and see a noticeable difference.
The news of Raj's leaving has left a whole bunch of the philosophy class questioning of leaving this university and studying else where because we feel that the other teachers simply cannot teach.
And should Raj not return, I can see a group of students going along to wherever else he decides to teach. If he decides to do so.
P.s. Very few people do their jobs with the mindset of giving, caring more about what you have that you can give to others, than what benefits you in the short term. Raj showed that he was this type of person.
And if you don't act quickly, I can see many other universities seeing what us students see and he won't be back. 2017 may bring the demise of your philosophy class. Which means less money and less funding, it also means the students of the next 2-3 years will leave with grades not representative of what they can achieve all because of your lacklustre teachers and poor

Raj was an excellent teacher and inspired me greatly when it came to philosophy.
Philosophy is one of the oldest subjects to be taught in universities today.
It is also one of the hardest subjects to do. It requires an incredible depth of thinking, that is it not easy to come by. Having an exceptional teacher who can not only inspire a student but also bring this out of them is invaluable to your university.
This is a subject that is well respected in the employment world, it should be just as respected at this university too.
Please do a service to the students of this university (as we do for you) and bring him back to teach us.
He is beloved by us all.
