The news arrived this morning and Chyna is being reinstated. I am drained from the fight but deeply grateful to the 211 people who helped push this over the line. We should enjoy this win while keeping a close eye on the administration to ensure they follow through.

We are aware that as of Friday, October 19, 2018, RA Chyna was released from her position in residence life after 4 years of service. We, the residents, of her past and present, present this petition to display our solidarity with RA Chyna. In many ways she has positively impacted each of us, and because of her, our experiences at this institution were heightened. We ask that you reconsider your decision to release her of her duties so that she may continue to be an asset to us on and off the job. Thank you.

Seeing this much support for Chyna feels overwhelming but it gives me the strength to keep pushing forward. This response proves how much she means to our community even when the administration refuses to listen.

I don’t know Chyna personally but, seeing how serious she took her job as an RA is important. Prospective students who want to be an RA need to see someone in the position who leads by example!!!
Chyna has been the best RA I’ve had throughout my entire matriculation at Bowie State. She has an extremely positive attitude and an inviting spirit that provides comfort for myself and many other residents. Her leadership, integrity, and kindness is admirable. She is a great role model and Bowie States housing wouldn’t be the same without her.
I’ve known Chyna since I’ve been a student at Bowie State University and she’s helped me through just about anything. Even in times where I’ve messed up, she’s coached me through it & still supports me to this day. She’s an amazing RA, she’s loves her job and truly loves the people that she works with. I wouldn’t ask for anybody else. I love Chyna so much!
Chyna was my RA for the spring 2018 and she has been a wonderful RA. Never had an issue, she is always on time & organized. It shocked me to find out that they released her, especially after 4 years of service.
Chyna was my fablrite RA’ and really made my experience freshman year be a smooth and peaceful one in towers!! Not only did she give me a great experience she taught the residents a lot about her culture and allowed us to be able to respect those who are different from us.
Chyna has been my RA since I lived in towers and now I am currently a senior. Also she has always helped me with any of my concerns.
Coming in as a freshman, not only was chyna a role model but she was also a friend, supporter, and in a short period of time she became family. Chyna was willing to help in anyway she could. I could go to her with life problems knowing she would give a listening ear and knowledgeable advice. I could go to her advice about my future and not only would she help me with a plan but she would be right there with me if passed or failed, congratulating me or helping me on ways that i could get better. It would be a major loss to the RA program if chyna was let go! She has the power to impact so many she is a picture perfect role model for the RA program. I know that she will always be there to for me and i hope that you reconsider your decision.

Chyna is a hardworking, dedicated and kind woman. Her work ethic is like no other. Please consider her to be in this position once again. To know that Res Life would let ONE incident outshine every other POSITIVE experience & all the hard working attributes Chyna has put in go to waste on her last year at BSU, is heart breaking. I hope you all reconsider
