The variations of these rules are ridiculous and the confusion is getting out of hand. As NSW P-Platers the RTA tells us that we must follow the rules of our licence, yet Victorian police claim they can only enforce the laws of their state. We can't spend 3-4 years of our lives worried about being slapped with $500 fine everytime we cross the border. Nation wide uniformity would be ideal, but any form of AGREED and UNITED clarification would be welcomed at this point in time.

As a young provisional license holder living on the Border I find it extremely difficult to comply with road laws as I travel between the two states. I am struggling to know how to follow the rules when conflicting laws are not explicitly explained - change is necessary.

These confusions in laws caused a lot of me and my friends troubles when we where teens, and even the cops couldn't explain to us the rules

These rules are a joke just yesterday I received a $466 fine and three demerit points for driving three friends to Yarrawonga. These rules need to be clarified.

Legislation needs to be made National. Living in a border town makes it very confusing because the police and licencing authorities for each state are confused at times. So how can motorists get it right if the authorities can't. This is a great initiative from a young person and young people are our future and have a lot to contribute. A change in the legislation would certainly be a step in the right direction for all laws relating to driving for young and old.

I've always been in support of learner and probationary drivers being able to drive at regular state speed limits. It is beyond me how it is safe to not teach our new drivers to do this.

The age difference is an issue too. Victoria is the only state that has 18 as the age you get your p's. every other state is 17
