We Need an Encephalitis Only Equine Vaccine

We need to view vaccinating our animals like we view the vaccinations of our children. We got mercury out of human vaccines and we need to do the same for our animals. We need to give only those vaccines that the titers of the animal tells us we need. The titers of many animals have shown that EEE and WEE need to be given more often especially in mosquito infested areas. But we cannot safely give tetanus that often. Please create and market the tetanus free EEE and WEE vaccine for the health of our animals and humans.

I give EEE/WEE twice a year (April and August). It's superfluous to administer ttox twice a year.

My IR/Cushings horse reacts to the shot that contains multiple vaccines. I would like to separate these as much as possible.

People should be able to pick and choose which vaccinations and at which times their horse(s) receive them. We should also be able to specify how they are administered, and for me, personally, I want them done individually. One at a time.

Furthermore I feel many vaccinations are only deemed necessary because of pharmaceutical companies. Money always plays a dangerous part.

I do not want my horses getting so many vaccines at one time. We need to separate the EEEand WEE vaccines from Tetanus.....as soon as possible.

Both of my horses are very sensitive to vaccines, and often have reactions, so I have to vaccinate for one disease at a time, and even then I worry.

I don't personally need this vaccine because I only need to vaccinate in the spring for encephalitis, but I see the need.

One of the reasons I stopped vaccinating was increased sensitivity to combo vaccinations and no alternative offered to me. There is a REAL need for many of us to immunize by disease type and space the vaccines out in order to reduce negative reactions. Also, tetanus and encephalitis inoculation requirements often do not follow the same schedule, therefore way too many horses are over-vaccinated for tetanus.

The need is real. If there is concern of horses going unvaccinated due to no tetanus included, make the EEE/WEE only vaccine available ONLY to veterinarians. The people that want this vaccine value their horses and wil not have issue with the slight restriction.

I believe tetanus shot should be separate from the Encephalitis vaccine. I have a horse that has problems with multiple vaccines so I have to have the vet out on separate occasions to vaccinate her.

I would think this would be a win/win situation. Vaccine companies could sell more boosters without the tetnus included.

I would like to be able to vaccinate only for the necessary diseases. Over vaccination is a problem, especially for horses with sensitivities.

This makes so much sense, and would not only be a boon to horse owners and veterinarians, would provide increased income from vaccine sales.

Over-vaccination is more harmful than helpful.
