We need a flexible approach to meeting patients needs in our village. A medical centre which has late nights and advice out of hours would be a start.

Site of medical centre inconvenient both for pedestrians and for people arriving by car. Snow/ice in winter makes it virtually inaccessible.

Whilst the existing medical centre has served the village well in the past, it does not have the resources to continue to do so. There have been numerous housing developments in recent years in the village, with more now planned under the UDP (Unitary Development Plan), and the medical centre is already over-stretched and does not have the capacity to deal with the increase in patient numbers wanting to access the services provided there. Access to the centre is also a problem, whether you come via Market Street or Thornton Road, and is especially so for those with mobility/sight problems or those with young children. The only solution is to build a new, fit for purpose centre which provides a wider range of services and facilities, and one which is well able to cope with existing and further increasing patient numbers in the future.

Accessibility is just not suitable.

In its existing position it's almost not fit for purpose.

Cobbles are very slippery in winter and far too steep.Anyone who has breathing difficulties is very disadvantaged and as a result may avoid visiting the surgery.

it needs to be replaced- especially with it being on a very steep hill. Elderly, mums with kids find it hard to navigate.

We defiantly do as I'v struggled to get appointments for me and my children over the past five years every time one has been needed. This is no offence to the current medical centre as it's just not big enough to cope with the volume of requests. Also all the new homes popping up it's only going to. Get worse

It's too small for the village population and have to fight for an appointment

The current building and facilities greatly restrict the service given to patients. It is not equitable care with other areas. If the council allow more houses to be built on green field sites the infrastructure also needs to be improved to be able to provide appropriate health services.

Definitely needed but could we consider refurbishment of one of our existing buildings instead of building another ?

As the village is expanding rapidly there is an obvious demand for more facilities in respect of doctors, health centre and generally a more accessible service, which is already stretched beyond capabilities.

Thornton definitely needs a fit for purpose new medical centre that would be more accessible for all patients not just able bodied ones.

We really need a new surgery. The community is continuing to grow and unfortunately we do not have enough space within the current building to allow for the amount of appointments needed.
