We the undersigned request that a fit for purpose medical centre is built in Thornton that offers a wide range of services and meets the needs of more patients in the area. We acknowledge the hard work done on a daily basis by all the medical professionals and staff based at the centre. We are in agreement that the current building does not facilitate modern accessible medical practice Thornton village desperately needs.

I spent the whole morning reading through your stories about the wait times and it is honestly heartbreaking how many of you are struggling just to see a doctor in town. I am currently trying to get a meeting with the council to figure out why they keep dragging their feet on this project despite how clear it is that the building is falling apart.

I really thought this might just be a small thing that stayed between me and a few neighbors but suddenly my inbox is totally swamped with notifications and it feels like the whole town is actually talking about this now. Honestly it makes me want to cry a little because it proves we all know the current building is just falling apart at the seams.

it needs to be replaced- especially with it being on a very steep hill. Elderly, mums with kids find it hard to navigate.
We defiantly do as I'v struggled to get appointments for me and my children over the past five years every time one has been needed. This is no offence to the current medical centre as it's just not big enough to cope with the volume of requests. Also all the new homes popping up it's only going to. Get worse
The current building and facilities greatly restrict the service given to patients. It is not equitable care with other areas. If the council allow more houses to be built on green field sites the infrastructure also needs to be improved to be able to provide appropriate health services.
Definitely needed but could we consider refurbishment of one of our existing buildings instead of building another ?
Living in the village for 19 years and seeing it grow so quickly we desperately need the medical centre to catch up with the services offered instead of having to travel to different hospitals for treatment that could and should be available locally.
not a moment too soon . We desperately need this.
Site of medical centre inconvenient both for pedestrians and for people arriving by car. Snow/ice in winter makes it virtually inaccessible.

We need a flexible approach to meeting patients needs in our village. A medical centre which has late nights and advice out of hours would be a start.
