Don't see why the government should be making safe seats in Brisbane at the cost of representation of people in NQLD

Fair dinkum, how dumb can the commissioners get? They have made a vital large physical area in the North West (Traeger) 8% over the population quota, whereas, for example, they have made the considerably smaller physical area of Coomera on the Gold Coast 9% under quota. Surely this shows these people know very little about the complex make up of our state which has more people living outside the capital than in it. Country areas need protecting with quotas that are UNDER the deviation rather than OVER the deviation because of the massive geographical areas involved and the community of interests that the Govt member serves. Surely common sense will prevail. This is probably the worst redistribution ever!!

This is common sense.

We need greater representation in the parliament and hence have a greater voice. The riches generated in our area should demand that more is spent on infrastructure and services in the rural regions. Then People would be able to live and contribute to the regions instead of fly in fly out.

I realise it is one vote one person with some advantage given to large electorates. However this is getting ridiculous and if it is based on census figures please give us s decent census that actually reflects the reality here. The last one was hopelessly organised and sone suburbs in Mount Isa were not even covered.

With the grow north government initiatives it is imperative that we have more representation not less.

Residing in the past in Cloncurry for 5 years have seen first hand people being handicapped because of such a large region who contribute greatly to the state and its economy but not heard effectively due to the current representation structure. Dividing this seat into more regions will enable a far more proactive area which is essential for a more successful means of government. Not only for people in the concerning region, but for the state in whole

Typical Brisbane mentality forgetting the people in regional Queensland. I would love to see a Brisbane pollie come out here and travel the electorate and see how they feel after it - would take them 2 weeks. They either don't get it or just don't care

We struggle for representation already. Need to maintain the level as it stands.

The proposed electorate is far too big to be covered by one member , therefore we not receive our fair share of representation.
