The State Government is proposing the electorate of Traeger which will combine both the Mount Isa and Dalrymple electorates, while eliminating a small portion of the southern end of the Mount Isa electorate. This will make the total size of our electorate 490,048 km2, more than double the size of the United Kingdom! We need 3 electorates in this area, not 1. Please sign this petition so we can push for 3 electorates, not 1, and have our voices heard.

We have now gone from 5 regional remote electorates to 4. These electorates cover the largest and most remote areas of the state. In other words this means less state representation for Queenslanders living in regional & remote Queensland. I'm disgusted with the changes
Having lived in the North west I know what the isolation means. There should be more representation of politicians not less. It should be 3 electorates not this HUGE electorate. People are entitled to a voice not a whisper
Ridiculous...city electorates the member can ride a bike from one side to the other. How can one man do justice to his electorate with an area the size of the proposed redistribution ? Your food isn't grown in the cities.....give the people away from the south east corner equal representation. .
It is not reasonable that an elected politician can fairly visit the proposed enormous electorate. Farmers and small towns are vital to this country, treat them with more respect through allowing them reasonable access to their elected pollie.
We need to have enough representation we have alot of different industries and sectors in a large area. How is one person suppose to support mining,farming, transport, small business, large industries, and keep everyone happy.
Don't see why the government should be making safe seats in Brisbane at the cost of representation of people in NQLD
Fair dinkum, how dumb can the commissioners get? They have made a vital large physical area in the North West (Traeger) 8% over the population quota, whereas, for example, they have made the considerably smaller physical area of Coomera on the Gold Coast 9% under quota. Surely this shows these people know very little about the complex make up of our state which has more people living outside the capital than in it. Country areas need protecting with quotas that are UNDER the deviation rather than OVER the deviation because of the massive geographical areas involved and the community of interests that the Govt member serves. Surely common sense will prevail. This is probably the worst redistribution ever!!

Typical of the government trying to dictate to us where we live, apparently we cost to much in infrastructure out here in our smaller towns, seems they forget where a lot of the income comes from! and how many jobs there are out here! yet we continue to beg to get any government funding.
