It's a shame the city departments can not work with local businesses to devise and ecconomically feasable solution to operation.

This is a community building business plan that deserves the city's support. The city zoning department refuses to embrace the efforts of this entrepreneur to serve the eastside community, and to support alternative social development through creative and inspiring food alternatives and activities! Mobile culinary businesses have a stringent health code and are required to have all of the same licensing as a brick and mortar, all while having to operate with tighter margins and higher operating costs! This location has been vacant for many years, and having a food concept that encourages diversity, brings people together, and builds relationships is exactly what the Tucson City Council and Governing Board of Supervisors should be applauding here, and if they were really concerned about our community they could easily make this whole by simply approving a temporary renewable site improvement plan that benefits the occupant and the community, as well as develop a logical and equitable solution that provides the occupant and its patrons a safe and fun experience we all desire and deserve.

This is absurd. There's no reason that this can't be zoned for multiple trucks and plenty of parking. As long as the trucks meet the food safety regs, and there isn't overcrowding, causing road issues, there's no reason to stop these food trucks from doing what they do. The Pit is an asset to the eastside and should be treated, as such. I can only wonder if the city isn't feeling like they are somehow missing out on a source of tax revenue. That's always a driving force in Tucson's policies.

Review the regulation & change it in the best interest of the community. Ask for public comments. In the meantime pending review open the pit.
