We Love Fredericksburg

These small rentals are what make the city a great place to visit. Bad policy!

Love Fredericksburg and it needs all the accommodations possible. Always need a great place to rent.

Fredricksburg is a place I call home from the first time I visited to now owning an STR. If it weren’t for the STRs I would never know about the city’s charm that made me want to save money to buy a future home for my retirement.

We love coming to visit the winery, shop at local businesses and would not be able to do this with out the STR. If this passes it with destroy the life and economy of Fredericksburg.

I have FAMILY that live here! Family that has a family of their own. Meaning my family has a 3 bedroom 2 bath house and CANNOT ACCOMMODATED ANOTHER FAMILY OF 4 (plus a 10 year old with cerebral palsy) air B/B’s have been a life saver for us! Please re-consider. We live 6 hours away and spend ALOT of money in your city every time we visit. I’m positive my story is only one of the many. Thank you for time.

Fredericksburg is a unique destination city in Texas. Let's keep the charm of visiting the city and staying in a STR.

I love visiting Fredericksburg sooo much and these STRs allow for me to have fantastic weekend stays in a town that is sooo great to visit❤️.

If this is a sign of the times it will kill the existence of Fredericksburg as we know it. The lovely short term rentals we have enjoyed over the years has kept us coming back. So as they say SO LONG to your city if u move forward with the Motel idea.

We love Fredericksburg! Please don’t impose dumb regulations. Let the market do its work.

Love the unique rentals

We love visiting the community and agree that at times the crowds can be overwhelming, but tourism is the backbone of the community and the city needs to work with the str owners to make the rental experience more enjoyable for everyone and not tie their hands!!

This is not California.

I am a property owner who wants to build an STR on my empty lot, but am waiting to see where the city lands on this issue. If this was not on the table I would have already begun construction.

I think they should repeal the blanket exception to allowing STR's in residential zones where there is not an owner resident on the property. If they allow a business that does not qualify for a "home occupation" into a residential zone, then why have a residential zone?

I love Fredrickburg too.

CUPs and caps are both too limiting.

I want to thank Mr. Starks for spearheading this effort. As a property owner who formerly operated an STR in this City I have been dismayed by the City's current failure in enforcing the existing regulations. I have personally reported an STR for not having any off-street parking (which is clearly required); only to be informed that the violator's permit is "current" and that the City would only review the matter when it came time to renew the permit (i.e., they would do nothing about such violations). A moratorium which prevents law-abiding property owners from exercising their right to profit from their property should only be considered when the local government can establish factually that the STR's currently operating are doing so within the existing rules. Otherwise, why make any rules at all?

We are asking the city to recognize and appreciate the tremendous value and resources short term rentals bring to the community.
