My felony is almost 10 years old in September and its still trying to haunt me, I made a mistake I've been clear except for some minor traffic violations which I have been blessed to take care of, so my goodness, give me a chance

Hello everyone one! I am Tynequa the one who finally built up the courage to take a stand for something. I caught my felony in 2010 or 2011 which I also have misdemeanor's of the same charge,3strikes your out but as a kid I didn't know that. I have been walking a clean path for 4years and it's going to stay that way,but why is it that I can't get a place to stay. I have a theft charge which I only stole out of mall's and other clothing store's. Never stole money, credit cards or. Any other things. I'm a mother if four with two grand kid's.. How do I survive off of $7.25 or even $10.00..I'm sick of actually living pay check to pay check. I don't regret anything else in my past besides the back ground I have if I could change anything about my life it would be not to have a back ground.

No felony but I agree that if a felon has turned their life around for the better they should be able to leave their past in the past.

I haven't been able to get an apartment in my name and I've never had one in my name. With a old background(13 years) it shouldn't be this hard

I'm a convicted felon for DRUG charges, I also find it hard to flourish because of my past in finding jobs they usually have dishwasher, hamburger chains or something with pay a person can barely get through life on. And yet a sexual offender can work corporate jobs or management jobs. Not fair when a person is TRYING to do good in there life... Everyone deserves chances in certain circumstances.

It is a commandment from GOD , to love your neighbor as you love yourself.
Why can't I be your neighbor ? because of a drug conviction that is 24 years old ? For real ! GOD bless.

We should not be judged by our past. WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES, & a lot of us learn from them. We should be able to easily find a home for our families instead of always getting turned down, & it shouldn't have to be a 10 year old felony ECT. People GET out of jail ready to get they life back on track with there self, family, jobs, and living arrangments.

I myself have no criminal background but i have people in my life that do and i see all the heartache and sorrows they go thru to get on their feet. Even if it's many years ago they are still not considered EX felons.
