On January 28,th 1986, the space shuttle Challenger was launched in temperatures at least 20 degrees lower than what it's solid rocket boosters were designed to operate it. After Challenger exploded, an engineer who worked on the solid rocket boosters gave an anonymous interview to NPR stating the he tried very hard to get his management to get NASA to call off the launch. He was obviously unsuccessful.

Now 89, Bob Ebeling has allowed NPR to reveal that he was the source of the anonymous 1986 interview and that he's been living with guilt and depression since the accident. We think that's wrong. Bob, you knew the situation and you did your best to get NASA to scrub the launch. "GO" or "NO-GO" was not your decision.

So we the undersigned join together to say "Bob Ebeling, the space shuttle Challenger explosion was not your fault."

Bob you shouldn't have carried that weight all these years. You did what you could and you were right the whole time.
