I'm personally appalled that she would claim that the residential school system did any good at all. Last time I checked, both murder and rape are illegal and the fact that she is able to overlook these facts is disgusting and says so much about her character.

I, as a Canadian, am ashamed ofvher comments. She never suffered beside my parents or siblings. Was she raped, beaten and molested as a child, forced from her parents loving arms and returning as the shell of the child they once knew but still loved. I think not! She needs to resign, her ignorance is embarrassing!

This 'senator's behaviour, disgusting remarks and total incompetence is am absolute embarrassment and shameful for ALL Canadians. Her 'resignation is not only appropriate, it is necessary. The ignorance and callousness of her remarks, in my opinion are not representative of Canadians or their beliefs vis-à-vis residential schools. I do not know anyone in theie right mind, let alone a 'political 'leader' who would be listing positive aspects of the holocaust. I believe people would be (and should be) outraged! It sickens me to see such a misrepresentation of many Canadians' views on the injustices and human rights violations Indigenous people suffered. The residential schools legacy is a complete disgrace to Canada/ Canadians. The fact that we will tolerate this type of behaviour in our political system speaks volumes.. She's got to go.

Mind If I put my mind into yours What will I find Will I have what it takes to be as strong as you A memory so sad A little child letting his mother's hand go Crying with fear Now you sit there with lines of age Each line telling a different story An old man who still cries Who still dreams it's like yesterday He is thankful for the ones who got him here He couldn't run his feet were frozen He couldn't work his knuckles were bleeding A little boy grew up to be a man in a blink of an eye Imagine you could never play Or hear yourself laugh Can you feel the screaming behind closed doors An innocence stolen In a mind where you can still hear your friends talk to you from a shallow grave You can only remember the dark side of the moon The silence in your cold heart You feel the kind of love with no care A forgotten child in a mind of an old man You do know it was promises of lies Now you blame yourself with shame In an old man's mind He still doesn't know why he was there By Poet Reginald Mercredi

She joins the many shady characters appointed by shady PM Harper. Even Harper knew when to apologize. Show some respect for the victims, the Institution and RESIGN.

I am deeply offended by this woman's lack of sensitivity towards the crime Canada imposed upon the First Nations people. She demonstrates that she is not qualified for this position. In fact she does worse for the integrity of the government and what it stands for.

Beyond an apology, this woman should be liable to pay damages for the harms caused by the damage a woman of influence and power like her can inflict.

Beyak's attempts to defend the indefensible—"genocide," by every legal and moral definition—disqualify her from the public debate. She must step down in order that healing may resume and continue.

I definitely agree that this woman should be banished from our Canadian government. She clearly has no clue of what she is talking about. We do not need the likes of her in our government.
