We demand the resignation of Senator Lynn Beyak and issuance of a formal apology.

I find the comments and attitude of the Senator to be BEYOND ignorant-and quite racist. She should be removed from office!

All free speech means is that the government does not have the right to jail citizens for views it finds objectionable. It is NOT an absolute right that entitles individuals to a platform and a lack of repercussions. Having the courage of one's convictions means facing backlash, sucking it up, and stepping aside when required. How does a senator not know this? Free speech rights do not and should not protect individuals from ostracism for their objectionable views...

I respectfully request this Senator be fired for her insensitivity to the Aboriginal survivors of the Residential Schools, which caused her to make hateful, racist remarks as well as demanding an apology to her for whatever reason she deems. and switching the subject to a demand for an audit of the accounts of the Native People as if they have not suffered enough. I know what the rules say about no firing of Senators, but arguments can be made to relax this rule, given the nature of this situation.

The Conquistadors and African colonizers were also well intentioned.

Until she educates herself on the issues surrounding Residential Schools & stops sweeping them under a rug... she needs to resign from the Senate! Or at the very least... resign from the Committee! An apology is not acceptable at this point... as she tries to reaffirm her position on her uneducated statements of the past!

This Senators comments totally negate the apology given by Stephan Harper gov. . Conservatives need to makeup their minds; if that apology was heart felt and sincere then she has to go, period, no debates

i wish she could understand the impact that the canadian indian residential school system has had on me ... until then , please step out of the senate and away from any table where discussions include anything indigenous in topic because i have no confidence you would represent my best interest to heal and move forward in a good way

This is deplorable, that another white woman of privilege can make a statement like that and not know it's implications....

We cannot undermined the colonialism imposed on indigenous people by taking away children from families to assimilate them into another culture that believes they are superior. Denying children from their families where they are loved and taken care off is immoral.

It's about time. I am happy to sign this petition.

I believe that the title of Senator is only deserved to those who merit it, through humanitarian accomplishments and intellect. Ms. Beyak clearly has none of those qualities and should be resign immediately.

Get rid of ignorance and bigotry like her.
