This is not ok and the white privledge mindset needs to be removed from the government, if any change in our country is going to happen.

Absolutely unacceptable remarks by Senator Lynn Beyak! These racist attacks on Indigenous histories, cultures, and social/political institutions cannot be tolerated. Canada is in no position to make moral accusations. #canada150 #dumpBeyak #awasBeyak (cree for: go away Beyak)

If in private industry this person would be gone.
The Senate needs to adopt HR policies in line with competence and reality. The fact that Beyak sits on a Senate aboriginal committee and still doesn't get it is unacceptable in 2017.

I am dumbfounded that a Senator actually came out with her statement.
In my mind, she should be kicked out of the Senate...period.

Anyone with this level of insensitivity and cluelessness should not be employed by any government ANYWHERE. She HAS TO GO.

Yet more conservative evil/racism and conservative nonsense proving just how out of touch, vile, and unnecessary to Canadian politics their party is. It's everyone's duty to make sure racism like this NEVER goes unnoticed or passes without calling out and ostracizing the perpetrators.

I am horrified and ashamed by this Senator's ignorant attempt to frame the atrocities of a centuries-long campaign of genocide against Indigenous People as having a 'bright side'. Shame on her. Her Senate pension should be donated in full to First Nations communities. It is the least of what she owes.

reprehensible statements from a Canadian senator. To be this ignorant of what happened and then to voice that ignorance in unconscionable and I believe she should resign or be released from the house of Senate. I for one do NOT want my tax dollars paying her wages.

This Dishonourable Senator does not have the social intelligence to serve in the Senate or to represent Canadians.
