We demand the resignation of Senator Lynn Beyak and issuance of a formal apology.

Someone who has as little compassion or empathy for all First Nations, Metis, and Inuit people in Canada have absolutely NO BUSINESS living off our $$$ and representing Canadians in the Senate. This ignorance and sheer hatred of the Indigenous people living here displayed by this ungrateful person should be asked to resign her position. She shows complete lack of respect and must step down. The likes of this person cannot and should not be tolerated.

It is unacceptable for a Canadian Politician to make such offensive statements about such a dark chapter in Canada's history. She needs to resign.

I am honoured to sign this petition to rid Indigenous Peoples from the attacks of such a hideous person ... a Senator no less! Shameful behaviour! No amount of sensitivity counselling could achieve a positive outcome like a forced resignation! And she should NOT receive a pension either!

Parliament in the 21st century is no place for racist 19th century thinking.

I am a residential school survivor from the Sagkeeng first nation, my Mother and her father. This woman obviously has no clue and no brains to ever think she can make such statements, her priviledge shows obviously. This is beyond insulting and degrading. The pain we feel everyday, at times just to get up in the morning and face another day to survive everyday things that she obviously takes for granted. I can say many negative things towards this person, but I won't. You can't fight ignorance. She needs to be removed...

Your comments on the genocide committed against First Nations people in part through the residential school system are disgustingly ignorant. The fact you won't even apologize for them shows you to be incapable of sober second thought and thus undeserving of a seat in the Senate

Her comments shows her complete ignorance about residential school and the harm it did to indigenous people by removing them from their family, community, language and culture. Please remove her from the senate immediately. She is a disgrace to all.

Any apology would be false. She sould resign and hopefully STFU.

Senator Lynn's comments are reprehensible, unacceptable, and reveal the deep contempt and racist bias she holds towards indigenous peoples. She is a great example of the continuing colonial violence that settlers inflict, day after day, here on this stolen land called "Canada". We call for your resignation, and an apology, and for you to actually read the TRC report, the whole report, so you can get just a small inkling of the trauma, harm and GENOCIDE that was the GOAL of the residential schools.

My grandfather, a residential school survivor, and my family/children whose subsequent loss of culture/language, deserve better. Lynn Beyak is offensive and should not be sitting on any committee that deals with Indigenous people or their futures. Reconciliation indeed.

Indian Residential Schools were set up as a means of cultural genocide and it is unconscionable for a Senator to promote the ignorant myth that they were benign and well meaning.

This is horrendous. To try to put a "positive spin" on what amounted to attempted genocide is unconscionable. Also, hiding behind the Trumpism of "fake news" is deplorable. Accept responsibility for your actions.
