We demand the resignation of Senator Lynn Beyak and issuance of a formal apology.

Canada supports convictions for ''hate crimes against people who say,the holocaust never happened! same crime here,her statement is a hate crime against First Nation in Canada....Canada,not oversea's. There was many First Nation's fighting in World War II. For her to make this statement is against what was fought to stop,HATE!!!

This person needs education.

I find it absolutely deplorable that a member of the Senate Committee of Aboriginal Peoples, senator Beyak, could have this viewpoint of the tragedy that was residential schools. If she does not resign, she should be removed.

This person needs to apologize then resign. She has, through her ignorance, demonstrated her incompetence.

What planet do you live on? Please present ONE child who did NOT suffer, directly, or indirectly as a witness, under the residential school system?! Name ONE family or community who was not affected. Please present ANY of the good you allege existed. ANY. I insist. I am stunned that you can actually come out and say publically that it was okay. Have you read the TRC report?

This is obscene and gross as a mentality of anyone in a position of leadership. Colonisation and forced hunger, sterilisation, sexual assault and mass shaming and dislocation form family and culture is never GOOD. EVER. RESIGN!!

Too much damage She needs to review history

Instead of relating her comments to the over-representation of indigenous women in Canada's prisons -- the point at hand -- Beyak attempted to gloss over the church's kidnapping and maltreatment of indigenous children in the past. These attitudes have no place among government appointed individuals, counting on a click-baiting media to publicize their notions.

She must resign immediately. She is a disgrace to Canada.

Oh Canada needs to get it together. We know the history. Built upon genocide of people. We need to acknowledge this to move on together. Truth and Reconciliation is with respect and truth. This woman is from a time warp when "God Fearing White Folks" did some nasty things. Why is my tax money going to this? Shame.

Apologize? The senate should apologize for allowing her to sit at all. She should not be allowed near a microphone or a computer ever again even were she interested in grovelling for forgiveness. She is a bad human being and she can go to hell.

Totally unacceptable. She must resign or be ousted.
