There was no good from the residential school system. Senator Beyak's words are hateful and uninformed. If she read the TRC report and thinks like this she is willfully racist. She does not and should not represent Canadians.
I join in the call for Sen Bryan to resign. I am disgusted by her comments regarding the good intentions gone unnoticed regarding residential schools. I wrote her a letter which was not answered.

There is a meme making the rounds on Facebook declaring how European Christians came to build this (US) country...Senator Lynn Beyak is evidently of the same twisted mind set and has no place in the Canadian Senate.

Nothing good came out of the residential schools. Clearly she has absolutely no sense of the harm done by the forced integration of the first nations children!

Your statement was shocking and irresponsible. It is also RACIST and ignorant. Shame on you.
Beyak does not even understand what she did and why it is so indefensible. She doesn't deserve to be in a position of power.

The Canadian Senate should reflect our most informed, experienced, skillful and mature leaders. Senator Lynn Beyak must resign immediately. Her willful ignorance and diminishment of the devastating legacy of Canada's residential schools, and the decades and generations of tragic impact are absolutely inexcusable in a government leader. Appalling and unacceptable. For shame. And issue an apology with the resignation.

Senator Beak's comments are appalling, abysmal confirmation of the worst elements of Canada's Senate. They are a disgrace to this distinguished house and all Canadians. She needs to resign.

She must go. The level of her insensitivity and ignorance of this part of Canadian history, from a senator, is disgusting.

Il est impensable que cette personne reste en poste! Quelle incroyable honte. Ce n'est pas terminé, le colonialisme au Canada. It is unthinkable that this person remains employed by the Senate. Shame! Canada's colonial history is obviously ongoing.
