I am a resident of Etobicoke ON, devastated by the ignorance of this woman. She should not be permitted to hold office representing Canadians.

She needs to go! She refuses to admit that she does NOT know more than do the First Nations people of Canada!

I demand that Senator Lynn Beyak resign or be removed from the Aboriginal People's committee! Her continuing comments prove that she is, at best, ignorant and, at worst... blind to her own racism & the privilege afforded her by the colour of her skin. I am a Métis woman and my heart hurts that this clueless, careless white woman has anything to do with the study of the residential school system that put so many of our First Nations people through Hell!

How dare this woman. "I've suffered with them up there...." No she hasn't. How dare she. She's basically saying she doesn't want to be educated because she has a friend who's Native American. Like good for you! That's like saying you can't be racist if you've got a black friend, or can't be homophobic if you've got a friend who identifies along the LGBTQA+ spectrum. This just in: YOU CAN. This ignorant piece of white supremacy doesn't deserve the position she has. She does not deserve to represent anybody. She should be removed from her post immediately. I don't wish her to endure the same horrors as the residential schools. I wouldn't wish that on anybody. BUT THAT'S THE POINT ISN'T IT?

Senator Beyak's claim to have "suffered with" residential school survivors defies belief. There must be no place for her in the Canadian Senate.

The comments and continued appropriations of indigenous issues for your own gain are offensive and they do not align with Canadian values. Resign.

This cannot happen soon enough. This woman is a stain on the Reconciliation tapestry.

As a First Nations citizen I find this view point unacceptable for the position she holds and the respect it deserves.

We must remove Beyak from her position immediately! This is NOT the representation of our country that we want in Aboriginal Peoples committee

Pathetically uninformed, and stupid remark.

Your racism and disregard for the atrocities committed against indigenous people of Canada is alarming. You are a disgrace, and do not represent the people of Canada. I am ashamed to call you a representative of the Canadian people. You have lost the faith of the Canadian people and you must resign.

Her mindset is not compatible with the goals of the Senate committee of Aboriginal Peoples or reflect an open and inquiring mind that is required in a Senator. She has dismissed an atrocity as acceptable because a few benefited.
