We Demand Milton Make Public the Entire T & M Report

I am a member of the class of 1979. Milton Academy must release the report and live up to its motto "Dare to be true." Anything less is shameful cowardice.

Milton has been in my extended family since the 1940s, and I loved my years there in the 7s. That duly noted, my friend Beau deserves justice, period. Full stop. Make it happen Milton, and live up to your motto please and Thank You!

This is urgent and serious. Please set an example of transparancy.

Dare to be true. Release the report.

Class of 1979

I am Class of ‘79 and was also too afraid at Milton to speak about abuse at home and seek help. By putting an end to silence and openly sharing the report, we show kids that they will be believed and supported, not made to feel ashamed or take the guilt onto themselves. Please stop this legacy of sweeping cases under the rug. The effects are devastating.

Release the report. If MA thinks there are major flaws in it, they can write a framing narrative. Keeping it hidden just allows the wounds to fester.

MA Trustee's please do the right thing and release your report. It won't be pleasant, but your and our integrity is on the line. Dare to be True.

Everything will eventually come out. Rip off the bandaid.

Live up to the school's motto, which has been important in my life: Dare To Be True!

I am grateful to Milton for so much, and know that many of the faculty and administration have the students' best interests at heart. However, I believe the school needs to be more open and forthcoming on what information it has. Healing will come more easily when the truth is out in the open.

Truth and accountability

I remember how, when a student broke the rules at Milton, their case went before the Discipline Committee, and their "crime" and punishment were later made public in announcements by faculty during school assembly. Although this process often caused shame and anxiety for students, it was employed, supposedly, in the name of community transparency. I look back on that student discipline policy today and wonder, why did/does Milton Academy apply a completely different set of standards and actions when it comes to faculty and harm done to students? Dare to be true! Release the report!

Truth and reconciliation

Come on Milton. Honestly? You never had a problem announcing student infractions and their punishments during morning assemblies. Dare to be True - do I end it with a ? or with a !

Dare to be true.

Buono was a tempting monster. He taught me 8th grade English. His love for the material, and ability to convey passion, led to my ability to read and write well - Homer’s Odyssey for one. Wish he hadn’t abused and ruined one of my dearest friends - RIP Ed B.

Our courageous classmates (survivors) have stepped forward. Milton Academy owes them honesty, justice, compassion, and gratitude. Milton must start by releasing the report.
