This statue was bought with out clear consent and consensus of the student body. The student government and administration acted against student interests when tuition and other costs are annually rising. The administration's priorities are flawed. If our public institutions continually price out working class people, how can anyone have pride in such marginalization and exclusivity?

You know what would build school spirit? Having necessities on campus be easily accessible. For years, students and teachers alike have complained about the lack of parking spaces. People are late to class, meetings, etc. because they're busy looking for parking. Using our tuition to build a statue is a slap in the face to people who are asking for cheap, accessible parking spaces and the fixing up of the older, more decrepit buildings. We don't need a Rocky statue. We have bigger needs than something pretty to show off during campus tours.

What so absolutely no one can pay attention it to after the first day. Build is parking so cranky ass teachers don't use it against us when we're late because we can't find parking

i may have graduated but how can Msu make students pay all their tuition for a statue? It looks great but it doesn't make sense for students to pay their tuition toward that statue!

Why spend $219,000 on a statue that will not solve any existing issues that the campus has now? That could go to creating some extra parking in carparc or put it towards tuition to help decrease the cost of tuition.

I'm not a commuter, but this is ridiculous. Is this why I have to go into debt with student loans? So you (collectively) can craft a statue that will get pissed on by drunks, have gum stuck to it, rust in the rain, etc. Give me a break.
