We Are Not Playing Games

Students need a healthy environment and nutritious meals to stay healthy and focused.

Please review the current state of the dining facility, food options and management of the dining service. I am sure you will find opportunities for improvement across the board. The number of issues and complaints can no longer be ignored!

We pay a lot for the food plan and other colleges including the Rider main campus get so much more for the same money. Perhaps it's time to hold your vendor to higher standards or drop them for breach of contract. I am deeply disturbed that I am discovering that absolutely nothing has been done to improve the quality of food after my complaint this past Fall. We are forced to pay an astronomical food service fee for mice to be dispensed from the coffee machine! Really?!!!!!!

I hope that the quality of the Westminster dining commons food matches the quality of the Rider campus food someday, because it is not acceptable that there is any difference at all. This year I lost ten pounds and became anemic due to the poor food choices that are offered. Additionally, I was served moldy bread once and I hope it was only chance that it happened. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but this problem really does need to be addressed.

This is absolutely essential for these students. I urge WCC to get their food service facilities duly inspected and perhaps take some tips from other area institutions (Temple U. comes to mind, where my daughter is) that not only provide a suitable variety of healthy options but conduct their operations in ways that are green and sustainable.

The dining hall food has always been horrendous, and the company that provides food and service to the school (Aramark) has been responsible for moldy and pest-infested food all over the country for years. They are responsible for providing food to state and federal correctional facilities throughout the country, and this food has also been reported as being infested with mold and crawling with insects and pests. No one deserves to be fed this disgusting excuse for nutritional sustenance.

Not a WM student but have visited several times, and was always seriously amazed at how awful the dining hall was (especially compared to the dining hall at the college I attend). Rider is just plain neglecting the choir college students. Just sad.

We definitely don't get what we pay for in food quality or in the quality of cleaniness. And on top of all of that, living on campus REQUIRES a dining plan, even though I am completely capable of getting my own food and making healthier choices by doing that. There is so much wrong with food services at Westminster.

As a parent I find this situation completely unacceptable. As a result of the lack of healthy food choices my son has experienced detrimental health conditions brought to our attention by his physican. I now learn there are ongoing sanitation issues. Why has the health department not been conducting inspections? What has been described to me are most certainly violations that would result in demerits or closure of any restaurant. Why has administration not been more involved and forthcoming with this issue. For what we pay in room and board our children deserve much better. This is shameful.

As a parent paying the bill for my son to live on campus, I could not agree more strongly with this young lady. I have heard these complaints from my son for the past three years. The administration MUST be held accountable and made to understand that action must be taken. If Rider wants to incorporate the Rider name onto the Westminster Campus then it is time for them to also stop treating the Westminster students as second class citizens. These students deserve the same respect that is shown to the students on the Lawrenceville campus.

I am broke because I have to buy all my food #SOS

I graduated in 2014 and went through the dining commons remodel. From my perspective, the food actually decreased in quality since the remodel during my junior year attending WCC. I lived on campus for four years and was an Resident Advisor for two of them. Many complaints of many first and second year students always end up being the dining commons food options, sometimes resulting them skipping lunch or eating less which is not ideal especially since many of these students must live on campus. I can tell you a main factor for many of the older students moving off campus is the food quality. Why should they be forced to pay for a meal plan AND housing when the food quality is sub-par to something they could be creating in a kitchen on their own? They would much rather pay money for rent, utilities, and groceries not only for an off-campus experience, but for better meal options. It is such a shame that the students STILL have to fight for a proper meal at WCC and I'm glad they are still fighting for what's right. I'm frustrated that it seems like the other side has hardly taken action. But now hopefully the student body's voices can be made clear and many issues can (and hopefully will) be addressed.
