Hemel belong in Hemel if not they should be dewsbury 2nd team.

What a joke the decision makers should have a long hard look at themselves

I thought the RL were trying to spread the game not consolidate it along the M62 corridor. Surely therefore consideration should be given to the wants and needs of the Hemel Stags or are the RL trying to close the Stags down?

What an absolutely ridiculous decision. How can the RFL allow this to happen to a team who have been pioneers in the south for so many years. Common sense, which seems to be totally lacking amongst those who made the decision, will hopefully prevail. How on earth can local talent be nurtured if this is allowed to progress.

Hemel Stags is a well known and respected amateur rugby league club. It attracts great local coaches and players in the South. It makes no sense to lose identity and respect by moving all training to Dewsbury Yorkshire! Either use more local facilities or develop your own. Putting off potential future stars due to travel and time commitments is proposterous.

Yorkshire guy been involved with both codes of rugby, (playing, coaching, management & supporting) for over 30 years and this is the most stupid idea I have ever heard of!

Grow the sport and grow local southern talent

I'm a salford and was against the merger with Oldham and that was next door. So I'm definitely against this. Can't market Rugby League in other areas of the country if the base operations are in the north. makes no sense. RFL should block this if they had common sense

I live in Bristol and feel RL should be heavily supported and invested in in the south of England. Moving teams up north or parachuting them in from Canada undermines the sport

Southern players can't possibly travel 3 times a week to Yorkshire to train, effectively this decision means that the current Hemel players have been sacked and the pathway for new players closed. R.I.P Southern Rugby League shameful

Hemel Stags were a beacon to club's outside the heartlands over the last 30+ years, it will be a crying shame if they throw away that progress

Sounds like a decision made in haste. Hemel is a southern club, and is an outlet for local talent. I can see no benefit to players from either Hemel or Dewsbury, or either club, nor the growth of the sport.

I've played for Luton Vipers, Bedford Tigers and St Albans Centurions and played against Hemel many times. This decision takes away an opportunity for players in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and North London to progress up the pyramid and have a chance to play at a higher level
