I am a vallecito and miller creek alumni. Proud to be a product of the amazing Dixie district. Do not change a thing!

I have lived in this community for 30 years and raised two children in the Dixie Schools. My family and I have always been proud of our Dixie School District!

This is ridiculous to change. This racism thing is going too far.

Please focus on education. Dixie has a proud local history of excellence and inclusion, in no way promoting or related to the confederate south. Let's keep the focus on our kids and use resources for their direct benefit.

Sad that others want to change it. It is many peoples history in attending Dixie Schools and being proud. What do they do now? This world is getting way to sensitive!

I'm a graduate of the Dixie system and believe the Dixie should stay in the name! Be proud of who we are and who we have been and where we came from.

Political correctness is hate wrapped in sanctimonious flummary.

Keep the name in honor of the man who built and named the building. We don't know the intent and cannot make a new meaning to lost history. Spend the board time working on educational matters please.

We need to stop this knee jerk mentality. Anyone can look up the history of the Dixie School House and see for themselves. https://npgallery.nps.gov/GetAsset/d7f18fb0-cf0e-492a-8af5-b24796424a96 Page 5.

Keep the name Dixie. If I was offended by the name I would not have moved into the District in the first place.

The name Dixie is positive due to the District's well established reputation for excellence in education. The Board should give weight to the feelings and finances of home owners who pay property taxes that keep Dixie on top in educational value rather than yielding to "hot button" issue pressure. I am a District home owner for 39 years, and have sent my two sons to Dixie schools. I speak only for myself when I urge respect for our locally unique history - be steadfast and keep Dixie Dixie.

My brothers (6 of them) and I all attended DIXIE schools. My parents were very involved in this district. There is no need to change the name of the school or the district. If it bothers you move out of the district or send your children elsewhere, pretty simple. Keep Dixie forever!!

We moved here because if the excellent reputation of the Dixie district! My kids went to Mary Silveria, Miller Creek and TL. They played for Dixie/TL little league. This issue comes up every decade or so. It’s silly, a waste of time and money! Keep Dixie, Dixie!

No need for all this non sense of name change of Dixie. This is a political move that is born out of select few who does not even know what racism is. I am one of few minority in Marin. Go elsewhere to find racism.

Proud parent of a Dixie School District student.. Not once in our 9 years in the Dixie schools did we hear a single complaint about the name. Let's move on!

Grew up in San Rafael, 5th generation San Franciscan. Do Not let this be hijacked by a Texan who is absolutely clueless about the needs of kids of Marin. $ better spent elsewhere. Move on!
