I prefer a community vote on whether to change the Dixie name or not. Hopefully a democratic vote will lay this “issue” to rest.

I attended K-6 at the Bernard Hoffman school in Terra Linda and was very proud of my school and school district. Please leave the name alone and concentrate on more relevant issues to ensure the kids receive a quality education.

Please don't change our history. Learn from it. There is no reason for this and it's absurd.

All three daughters went through Dixie schools a period spanning 13 years. They greatly benefited from excellent educational and extra-curricular opportunities based on their individual achievement and effort. The teachers, administrators and support staff of the Dixie District comprise one of the best things about living here. Oh, and all three played for the Dixie Youth Soccer League. The name means excellence to us.

I have lived in the Dixie School District
for over 50 years and I have never associated the name with the "south". Please let's just keep it the way it is now.

These outsiders, not-in-Dixie-residents, who are true troublemakers, need to look no further than the Oval Office to determine true racism - leave this beautiful school district alone - people move here for the privilege of their children to attend Dixie schools - the name is established with excellence and integrity and has ZERO to do with 155 years ago history in the South...these folks need to get a life and find something better to do, rather than take away funds (already in short supply) from our classrooms, children and teachers...!!!!!!!!!!
