I don’t live in the district but I grew up in this county.

There are better ways to spend our money than a name change that’s for sure.

No one bothered to look up the Miwok history or gonlook st the grave yard on Miller Creek grounds. They just jumped on the train with that jerk from Tiburon whose kids didn’t even go to to Dixie! It’s sad and stupid! Makes me wonder about Marin!

I taught in the Dixie school district years ago. Still keep in touch with students and parents.

I went to school in terra linda there is no reason to change the name just to appease the few. NEXT THEY WILL WANT TO CHANGE THE NAME OF SAN RAFAEL. JUST BECAUSE OF THE WORD "RAFAEL"

The name change is pretty ridiculous. I went to Dixie when I was little and I would like the name to stay the same, honoring Mary Dixie. Please don't waste money on rebranding the school, use it instead to fund stem or engineering or music programs.

This name change is ridiculous. It has never had anything to do with the Confederacy. Money that should go to educating kids should not be spent on changing the name. It is a misuse of funds. I went to Mary E. Silveira and Miller Creek. I grew up in the district.

I believe the petitioner’s assertions that the Dixie monicker was offered as an honor for her family. I went to school in the district, and hope the name stays.

I went to school in the Dixie School District as a child

I went to Santa Margarita Elementary when it was K-5 and I remember studying about the local tribe and the history of Dixie. I was appalled when I read several months back about the name change. Let's not make something out of nothing. I always loved being from the Dixie School District. Let's keep it that way!

The TRUE history of Dixie School District vis a vis Marin's Miwok connections needs to be properly taught and celebrated! Marinite from 1949 to 2002...

You need to send mailers out about this recall

100% supportive of retaining the name Dixie. Nothing is accomplished by the meaningless change that has wasted time and resources to no end. A sad commentary on the psychological health of our community. Perhaps focus on changing the historical term Dixie as it applies to the southern slave states.

These uneducated people have no right to change, dishonor and shame this neighborhood and family! I was born and lived in Marin for over 30 years and not once did I ever link "Dixie School District" to slave owners and before I would ever draw any conclusions, research would have been done! Keep Dixie, Dixie! Educate, don't cover up
