The beach should be kept free, and even the persons who wants it to turn into a private beach knows that it should be kept free. I have been going there since I was a child.
Its very evil to want to take the beach away from the people (not everyone can afford to pay to use the beach especially in these hard times).

I am a Jamaican born now living in the UK since 1961. I return to Jamaica regular since 1991 with out fail, My Family,Friends and I visit Winnifred Beach on each visits spending hours and lots of cash. Please Save Free Winnifred Beach.

We must preserve some of the natural beauty and culture of our island... this is all that is left of our livelihood. What will our future generations experience once the concrete tourist attractions start to crumble just like all the others? This country has already sold/destroyed so much of its beauty... Free Winnifred! Let her be as she was meant to be.

I have been travelling to Jamaica multiple times a year for the past 5 years. The best thing about Jamaica are the people. The government owns and operates ENOUGH. Please leave Winnifred Beach a public beach, it looks like an amazing place, where hard working independent people are operating and managing it.

The UDC sounds fraudulent and suspect in how they obtained the rights to this property. There's a hidden hand at work that need to be investigated and made public. There are more than enough hotels, etc for tourism in Jamaica and legislation need to be introduced in Parliament to stop new developments for tourism in Jamaica if it will interfere with the lives and livelihood of the people of Jamaica.

The Jamaican gov't. does not have the right to steal what was given freely to the people. This beach was given to the people of that area and left in trust for them. How can you purchase something that was already given away?
