It's a shame what they want to do with this beach , everything is so expensive in Jamaica and to see this beach go would be a big lost . There are no more free beaches in Port Antonio and the people can't afford to pay and should not have to pay to go to the beach.

This should not be so... I got ass wooping from my grandmother for not going home straight from school instead I stopped at winnifred to hang out.... I look forward to feel free to visit my beach whenever I choose to. This is wrong an should not be tolerated...

Please keep the beach free from developments for the indegenious people and the travelers willing,to experience a true Jamaica, it would a travesty to prohibit access by the locals due to,a profit based development.

Stay out of this UDC. Winnifred Beach is fine just the way it is. No "development" needed

It is really a shame that the Jamaican government would stop their own people from having a public beach. It shows just how corrupt they really are. They want the money to share among themselves. Its time for a change in Jamaica.Stand up for your rights Jamaicans.

I believe the natural treasures of jamaica belong to the people, as a Jamaican living abroad I revisited Port Antonio in April 2014. I visited this particular beach with my young family and they enjoyed it so much we had to go everyday. We visited other beaches but they could not compare. If we keep on developing our natural resources what will be the attraction of the island. The natural beauty of the Island is the attraction in itself it will in turn attract tourism, which will develop the area. If you sell everything to foreign investors there will be nothing for the people. Jamaicans are renowned all over the world for their realism and integrity. It is important to look after our natural resources for our future generations, do they are also fulfilled with the experience we had. To develop the beach would be a bad decision on your part. Listen to the people who frequent these places and find a way to make public access to the beach beneficial for all....
