I used to shop at the original Wax Trax as a teenager and in my early twenties. I still own a good number of those records to this date and it probably influenced my musical tastes more than any record store I've requented. It just deserves landmark status.

I only had the chance to visit the location once. But it was like going to Mecca as Wax TrAx was the center of all industrial music

Wax Trax! was a big part of my life during my high school years in the mid-to-late-80s, driving my parents' car into "the city" to check out the music scene. Wax Trax! was a main destination for me and my friends, introducing us to new, exciting bands not just as teenagers but continuing into adulthood.
