This place is a historic place for music. Even Dave Grohl said so himself.

This place is synonymous with Chicago around the world. Even more recognized than the Chicago flag.

Growing up on the southern end of Illinois, we didn't get the same exposure to all the wonderful WaxTrax! artists, arts, clubs, and venues. As this location helped shape an entire music industry, I feel it is culturally significant, not only to Chicago, but to the world of music and independent artists of all styles.

When I was in college, the original Wax Trax! store was our Mecca whenever I came to town. It was an absolute necessity to visit the store to pick up whatever the new hotness was.
