I lived across the street from Wax Trax! in the early 80s. It helped define the neighborhood and became a worldwide focal point for Chicago in the music scene.

I was a music journalist 80-87; this store was where I went for the lowdown. Bands that played Cabaret Metro used to hang there. Very important to the punk/new wave scene regionally as well as locally.
