This beautiful building needs to be saved-and it’s a treasure to boot-I still have lots of priceless vinyl from there.

I grew up on the south side of Chicago and whenever I went up north (which was often), I always tried to make a stop at Wax Trax. A one-of-a-kind store, it was a music lover’s paradise. Jim and Dannie were music pioneers, so let’s save an iconic piece of Chicago history!

Wax Trax was and still is a massive influence. I founded The Geek Squad and the aesthetic directly comes from that era.

I am sending an email also but to sum up Historic Preservation is essential to economic success in neighborhoods; diversity of building types and architecture is analogous to biodiversity, essential to life! Wax Trax records is more than the building, it is the people and their art whose influences on popular culture cannot be overstated and should be celebrated; preservation of the building is where their story can start to be told.
