Wax Trax was an oasis and destination - I drove in from Michigan when I when I was in high school. The store was a gateway to art and culture that I otherwise wouldn’t have had access to. Also, Lincoln Park has a history of architectural preservation and the arts. Wax Trax is a landmark, the end.

The Lincoln Ave Wax Trax! store played a seminal role in the 70’s and 80’s Chicago Industrial music scene. It was a hub where the community was built & flourished. It deserves to have it’s landmark status recognized. I spent many hours & hard-earned dollars in this block of Lincoln Ave between WT! and the Red Lion.

WaxTrax meant the world to me as a kid in Florida who looked to WaxTrax to help me navigate a world of music that was otherwise unavailable in my small town. The building is a part of the legend of WaxTrax, and to see it preserved would be a fitting honor to the fond memories a lot of us have for the store, the label, and Jim and Danny
