The artists who were given the opportunity to put their work out into the world by WAX TRAX! have been so immensely influential to so many people over the decades, and the label itself commands a certain reverance by association. The people involved helped define an era of unique music and the subcultures that gravitated around said music. WAX TRAX! stands out as a net-positive in the world, when so many other music labels are associated with predatory practices and choke-hold contracts depriving artists of fair compensation for their work. I don't pretend to know the experience of every artist who worked with the label, I speak of what I have personally heard and observed. But a piece of their legacy should be preserved by that metric alone.
Wax Trax! changed my life, full stop!
