Wax Trax was an important part of the lives of people like me who were starting their adult lives in Chicago by living in Lincoln Park as a recent college graduate in the 1980’s. We listened and learned there, and developed our love of Chicago because of places like this.

Waxtrax was such a huge influence on me as a teenage music obsessive in the early 80s. The influence of that record store is immeasureable.

Absolutely a landmark of the soul of Chicago. I used that address for at least 30 years as a compass !

I grew up at Wax Trax! I met my first boyfriend there and learned so much about music and fashion. It influenced so many kids and was an iconic place for a generation of creative people. Save this building and give it historical protection!

I used to go there during my high school days with a few friends of mine. Eventually, we made acquaintances with some of the employees there and talked a lot about music. Great bunch of people and memories!
