Growing up in Wyoming, this store and record label was like the Vatican to me. I never got to see it. But everything that came out of it (tolerance, creativity, fun, expression) informed who I am today. I finally made it to Chicago this summer for the first time and this address was one of the first places I took my son.

Wax Trax! Records was the center of one of the largest and most influential underground scenes in the 80s and 90s. Without it, the musical and cultural landscape of today would be very different. Without the industrial music Wax Trax gave us, dance music as we know it may not exist, and the path of evolution rock n roll has taken over the last 3 decades would be very different. I know people who have taken vacations, sometimes multiple vacations, just to visit the store/office. I would get much like to do the same.

This building and all that came out of it made massive impacts on my life and the lives of countless others. Being a Midwesterner, born and raised, the historic preservation of 2449 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago, IL is very important to me. Please preserve the rich history and impact of WaxTrax!!

This building and this record label was so influential and important to an entire generation. We cannot let it be torn down. Or altered in anyway.

Save Chicago music history before it gets purchased by a developer and turned into condos.
