One of the most culturally significant places in Chicago. People in the future need to know about this as it has impacted popular music generally for generations.

A cultural designation of some sort should be a no-brainer at the site. Wax Trax flourished during a revered decade by releasing music in the US that is considered a pillar of post-industrial alternative dance music. They helped reshape the culture and musical landscape of the underground 80s everywhere.

The Wax Trax building was one of the spots I had to visit when I flew to Chicago. Not many buildings or sites from that era are still around in Chicago, so this should be preserved for cultural reasons.

Wax Trax! Records was both the most important American record label and retailer in the history of electronic music. Its cultural significance to the LGBTQ+ community in particular would be difficult to overstate.

I'm glad to have grown up partly in the era when Wax Traxx! meant the world to the scene it was developing. I hope to tour the building one day so I am more than obliged to sign this. Thanks for everything Nash family!!!
