Wax Trax! Records is a moment in time where many people, like myself, discovered that we weren't alone in the music we loved. I can truly say that they broadened my tastes. Recognizing their role in the growth of the industrial genre is a must! Chicago is known for many historic events and places. Wax Trax! is just as important for their contribution to music as an artform. Thank you!

Bill Stephens (Naked Raygun), Tina Spinelle (Perpetually Coolest Chicago lover of arts and music), Dan O’Connor (The Lake Michigan Jumper and friends to all things Chicago Music and the arts) and me (just happy and proud to know these folks) all spent considerable time from our formative years making the trek from the northern ‘burbs just to hear the music blaring that day, hold the import records we couldn’t afford, and just bask in the feeling of true community and inclusion we never knew existed in a pre-Internet world. Man, with everything wrong with the world, it’d be wonderful to protect something so genuine and true.

Amazing place! This has to be a historic landmark just for the Chicago music scene.

I worked at this location when it was a 2nd Hand Tunes, but we felt it was legendary from having been the former location of Wax Trax! It's an absolute cultural landmark that is globally revered, and needs to be preserved.

Wax Trax! was an escape from the insanity of the 80s. It was a place of acceptance, energy & inspiration - it will always be remembered with a smile.
