I was a huge Wax Trax records fan when I moved here from Philly in 1990. Wax Trax records was the first place I wanted to go and went many times thereafter! Classic Chicago!

During the height of urban decay, we were so fortunate to grow up with Wax Trax in the 1980s—the most magical time in Chicago in the past 60 years. The bands, records, shows, Medussa's, Metro, Neo, Lounge Ax...the center of the universe's 1980s music scene. Lincoln/Clark streets were Chicago’s gritty answer to 1970s Bowery in NYC. For the city, please do the right thing and preserve this truly unique part of Chicago history that inspired 1990s rock music and importantly, many of your current taxpayers to re-populate large parts of city after college…from the west loop post-industrial decay warehouse clubs that are now luxury condos and all the neighborhoods along and west of Damen Ave where cabs wouldn’t even venture before 1990. Thanks Julia. PS don't forget WaxTrax industrial party favorite Pailhead in your history book--loved their EPs.
