Good luck with your effort to get landmark status, Julia. Like so many native Chicagoans or out-of-towners, I spent the better part of my youth and beyond poring over the selection of unique, cutting-edge music that your father and his partner furnished. WAX TRAX! was indeed a special sanctuary for so many people, the likes of which we'll never see again.

Wax Trax is among the finest of Chicago culture. This would only start to recognize their legacy properly.

Wax Trax started my independence as a person of who I am today. Teenage kids visiting a music store that opened a whole new world of sound. Listening to the music, the technology and the founders of these groups have influenced an abundance of musicians. Even the Oscar winning Trent Reznor has his roots in Wax Trax. The Godfathers of electronic dance music Front 242 whom grew from Wax Trax. The list goes on.... Chicago celebrates DJ's in the city with honorable streets. We are looking to preserve one building that gave us purpose and dreams to reality of many.
