I am British but visited Chicago just to see the place where Wax Trax!! started. When I visited I must have spent nearly $1000 while in the area.

We don't need more development in this city, we need more meaningful preservation. Leave Wax Trax alone.

Wax Trax is a legendary force in the music biz, renowned far beyond Chicago and remembered by record store owners/staff I have visited in New York, Denver and California where I now live. A weekly visit during the 70’s and 80’s to Wax Trax was an essential event. This would be a wonderful designation. Thanks!

I'm one of the many "countless others" from around the world. Originally from New Zealand, Wax Trax! was my gateway to independent music via mail order. However, I've also made the pilgrimage from New Zealand to visit the Chicago store.
Please preserve this important landmark of Chicago's modern cultural history!
