Wax trax records was/is such an important part of underground music history. So many well known alternative bands still going now started with wax trax. It's just as famous here in the UK as in the USA. Please give it the recognition it deserves. Thank you.

Please do not ever demolish or change this iconic store front! It is one of a slight few buildings left in Chicago that brought music from all over the world and enriched all with cultures akd people Americans would never get to ecperience othetwise. Is nothing sacred from the alternative culture?

Wax Trax! is not only a Chicago cultural landmark and touchstone for a generation but they were invaluable to the evolution of a genre of rock band that could not exist today without Jim and Dannie’s participation.

I can’t begin to describe just how important Wax Trax! Records was to me when I was in my teens and twenties in Houston. I first heard a DJ play some of their records, then I managed to find some releases on cassette, which included the mail order form. I began ordering, and the music changed my life. I always wanted to visit the store because it was so important to me. Then I began going to shows for the bands. That location gave birth to so many great records and collaborations. It cemented a scene and a sound so distinct to Chicago and deserves to be saved.
