The 1980s were a magical time to grow up. The WaxTrax record store on Lincoln Ave. was the place to be when it came to amazing 80s dance music. Please help preserve this iconic building to protect it from being torn down for a high rise condo. Thank you!

I absolutely love WAX TRAX, it was a relevant part of my teen years, and obviously, I adore that moment in time, but beyond that, THE INDUSTRIAL SOUND is one of the greatest achievements in music history and its Cathedral, this humble building in 2449 Lincoln Ave deserve to be preserved in its entirety for all the generations to come maintaining this way the link with Chicago's most glorious musical past.

WAXTRAX is absolutely an institution representing not only Chicago music history but Music specifically. When I think of WAXTRAX I think of musical and artistic integrity focusing on talent and distribution for the sake of The Listener!!

When I was 16 I traveled across the city to buy my first records there. It was a whole new world and opened my eye s to all kinds of amazing artists. So many things are so easily destroyed and forgotten it would be nice to preserve this piece of alternative culture history

Please preserve this historic building and facade. It is a historical location in the city that cultivated and promoted industrial music. Just the the music alone should warrant its landmark status.
