The original WAX TRAX! store at this location was an important part of many lives, including my own. Countless music lovers from all over the world regularly made special trips to Chicagoland just to visit Jim and Danny's unique business, to talk to all of their beloved employees, and to be part of a scene that existed no where else. Please make it an official historic landmark so that future music lovers and cultural historians can have some idea of where the magic began.

Though I lived in El Paso, when I was visiting relatives in the area, I made exactly one self-serving stop, which was to this record store.
It's becoming clear that with streaming services erasing the ability for many to be full-time musicians, that music is still important to the world. We need to preserve those actual landmarks to those who supported music.

This was on my must visit list the 1st time I was in Chicago when I was 14.. And I did visit it when I was 14 and every time I've been to Chicago since then.

This absolutely has to happen. As a kid growing up in Chicago, I spent countless hours at the store digging through record crates and digging the scene. The music they brought to the world changed and saved my life.

This needs to happen. This building was tremendously important to myself and so many of us from the mid 80's and beyond. There was nowhere else for us to go to find what we need. This would be a tremendous nod to a culture that is now widely embraced.
Preserve it please.
